Course Aims
This course will provide a comprehensive introduction to programming with VB.NET. Prior programming experience is helpful but not essential. Students will design and develop Windows based object-oriented applications using Microsoft Visual Basic. The course focuses on user interfaces, programme structure, language syntax, and implementation details.

Course Outline

  • Designing and programming feature-rich Windows-based applications using the Mircosoft Visual Studio .NET framework.
  • Writing code using Visual Basic (VB)
  • Leveraging Visual Studio tools for rapid application development and testing
  • Writing object-oriented applications using visual basic language constructs
  • Implement decision structures and loops by using conditional expressions
  • Use Microsoft ADO.NET to access and manipulate data in a database
  • Experiment with more advanced features of the .Net environment notably mobile application design.
