Course Aims
Learn to build, upgrade and maintain PCs and the equipment they support. You will learn to install and maintain a range of hardware, software and peripheral devices found in domestic and business environments.
Course Content
- Learners who successfully complete this will be able to:
- Install and configure common system components
- Install common system components into a desktop system unit
- Install and configure common peripheral devices
- Identify basic troubleshooting procedures and tools
- Develop safe working practices when working with computer equipment

Course Work
Skills Demonstration 70%: In a series of skill demonstrations, candidates will be assessed in a range of practical exercises in PC assembly and maintenance Examination 30%
Entry Requirements
- Level 4 Certificate, Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification and/or relevant life or work experiences.
